How wonderful to be back together in person for our 2022 MCRA conference, which was held at the beautiful Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center located on the banks of the Potomac River. As in years past, we kicked off our event Monday evening with a lovely welcome reception!
Tuesday’s breakfast was followed by our keynote speaker, Will Bowen, Motivational Speaker who shared helpful hints on how to stop complaining and live the life you always wanted.
Kevin Dotson with Signify/CARAVAN Health gave us an overview of the REACH model and discussed trends in downside risk.
Following lunch was our panel discussion on valuing and reimbursing gene therapies. This year’s panel included David Barrett, JD, CEO, American Society of GCT; Remy Brim, PhD, Practice Co-Head, Health and Life Sciences, BGR Group; Ashley Hume, SVP, Strategic Growth & Client Engagement, Emerging Therapy Solutions; and our special guest speaker Jenn McNary, patient advocate.
After lunch we heard from Nancy Taylor, Co-Chair, Health and FDA Practice, Greenberg Traurig, LLP on health care legislative and regulatory update.
Our Tuesday group event allowed for lots of networking and singing along with NYNY Dueling Pianos!
After Wednesday morning’s breakfast, we heard from Marty Makary, M.D., M.P.H., Johns Hopkins Medicine, a return MCRA speaker. Dr. Makary discussed his new book The Price We Pay and the grassroots effort to reform health care.
Our conference was closed by Mallory Kirby, Advisory Board, on state of the health care industry: market trends and industry insights for leaders.
